Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks winning, make no headway in standings as road trip begins The Vancouver Canucks have righted the ship after their early-season losing streak, but are having a tough time making headway in the standings and are still without several important players due to injuries.

Thank you Carol!

Best wishes to Derek Dorsett with the surgery.

I am really starting to wonder why the top line is still together. I know if Hansen was back we might see that old line together but man oh man does Sutter and the Sedins look mediocre.

So Van is on Spooner? What would be the cost?

I'd like to see Eriksson go back with the Sedin's for a couple of games.

maybe Horvat's line is becoming the defacto top line... Ericksson could use some skilled players to play with...

I completely agree.

Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Granlund - Sutter - Chaput (Hansen when back).
Baertschi - Horvat - Burrows
Megna - Burrows - Labate (skille ugh...)

Hutton - Gudbranson
Sbisa - Stecher
Tryamkin - Biega (Larsen is stool)

The idea of Spooner is to be paired with Eriksson cause they had PP success in BOS.

Not sure how that would work here under WD's systems lol

I know Burrows is playing well, but I don't think we should double shift him

2nd round pick

lol I think BOS would want a game-ready player. Our only trade assets are Hansen and Tanev. Hope JB doesn't toss another pick out for a maybe...Spooner is struggling...

Yep. Never really had a chance to get going with the twins. Put him back there and leave him there until they find some chemistry.

Sutter needs to be deployed as 2nd or 3rd line C.

I'm hoping this is not the logic about to be applied.

I'm only on board with acquiring Spooner if they are willing to make a package out of our spare parts or our fringe prospects.

Pedan, Larsen, Subban, Gaunce, Rodin, etc... add pending UFA's to the list... but I'd rather acquire picks with them.

Keep our picks between 1 and 5.

Rodin also skated at UBC last Friday, but there's still apparently no timetable.

I saw a report that he could get some games in Utica for conditioning before joining the Canucks, so let's watch for that as a sign he's getting close.

Best wishes for Derek Dorsett on the operation and recovery.

Cervical spinal fusion for the neck is the same sort of procedure that Gary Roberts and Michael Nylander had. The recovery time is at minimum 6 months, so we won't see Derek til next season.

Boston can hoop their forehead. Spooner isn't impressive at all. Pass.

Spooner being a C, wouldn't it make sense for Granlund/Gaunce to be involved in any deal? We would need to clear room in the middle as well as for expansion protection...

Doesn't seem worth it.

I've been thinking about that and jersey sales lately, definitely more than a few picked up a McCann jersey last year, and I'm sure there are some considering Sven, Granlund, Hansen, etc who may not be around next season depending on TDL and expansion drafts
- WhiteLie

I want to buy a Hutton jersey but I don't know if it'll be safe to untill he gets his next contract after the 2 year he just got

He wouldn't accept a trade here anyway. Haven't you seen what Patrick O Sullivan has been saying about us? lol
